Dr. Erin Neuschler named President of Chicago Radiological Society for 2020-2021

Dr. Erin Neuschler, Associate Professor of Clinical Radiology at UIC College of Medicine and UI Health, has been named President of Chicago Radiological Society (CRS) for 2020-21. The CRS was founded in 1913 and has the distinguished honor of being the oldest, continuously active radiological society in the United States. The CRS is comprised of physicians and other medical professionals who specialize in the use of radiation for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and serves as the local division of the Illinois Radiological Society and larger American College of Radiology. The CRS performs local advocacy and also provides regular educational meetings for local radiologists, radiation oncologists and trainees. With the Covid-19 crisis providing added challenges to professional societies that focus on educational activities, Dr. Neuschler stated that “with the COVID-19 pandemic upon us, we have made the decision to transfer to entirely virtual meetings for the foreseeable future. We see this as an opportunity to modernize our meetings and continue to offer high quality education content to our CRS members as well as to the entire Illinois Radiological Society in a virtual format.”

Dr. Neuschler is a board certified diagnostic radiologist with fellowship training in Breast Imaging. Dr. Neuschler is a Breast Imager in the Department of Radiology at UI Health. As part of the Center for Breast Care, she interprets mammograms, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI; she also performs breast biopsies as well as needle localizations in these modalities. She has a special research interest in breast optoacoustic imaging.
